Robin et Patrick sont les têt pensantes et les mains ingénieuses de RBCP,

nom sous lequel ils exposent depuis quelques années sur la scène helvétique.

Nés au début des années quatre-vingts, les deux artistes se rencontrent au centre d’enseignement professionnel de Vevey (CEPV), où ils obtiennent tous deux leur diplôme de photographe. Le duo se consacre alors pendant de nombreuses années à ce médium en deux dimensions, travaillant notamment dans l’univers de la publicité. Fascinés par la lumière et le travail de composition que requiert la photographie, ils ont exploré avec passion différentes manières d’aborder ces thèmes. Progressivement et à force d’expérimentations, il est devenu évident que ce médium était insuffisant pour traduire leur envie de travailler le volume et le mouvement. Robin et Patrick se sont donc naturellement rapprochés de formes artistiques plus vastes et plus englobantes telles que la sculpture et l’installation.

Ces dernières leur permettent d’explorer l’espace d’une manière ludique

par le biais de l’anamorphose.

Robin and Patrick are the heads and the hands of the ingenious RBCP, the name under which they have exhibited on the Swiss scene in recent years.

Born in the early eighties, the two artists met at the Centre d’Enseignement Professionnel de Vevey (CEPV), where they both received degrees in photography. The duo then devoted themselves for a number of years to this medium, in two dimensions, including work in the advertising world. Fascinated by the light and composition work required by photography, they explored with passion different ways to address these themes. Gradually through experimentation it became clear that the photographic medium was insufficient to accomplish what they wanted to do with volume and movement. Robin and Patrick therefore naturally moved closer to broader, more encompassing art forme, such as sculpture and installation.

 

These art forms allowed them to explore space in a playful way through anamorphosis.
